Selecting Input Mode
The first thing you should do before typing any text is to select a keymap. On the top right corner of the window containing the editor page, you should see a mode toolbar with two pop-down menus. The mode toolbar looks like
In the first pop-down menu, select the scheme. In the second pop-down menu select the language you want to type in. An appropriate keymap for the selection will be shown to the right side of the editor.

Tooltips and Shortcut Keys
For a brief description of what each button does, hover over the button. A tooltip will be shown including the shortcut key you can use to activate the action from your keybord.
Cut-Copy-Paste Text to and from External Applications
If you want to cut, copy or paste text from IndiWord to
other applications or vice versa, you must use the shortcut keys.
Converting Text composed in ITRANS/RTS to Indian Languages
A lot of content composed in transliteration schemes like ITRANS and RTS is already available on the internet. For example vedas, puranas, stotras, slokas, satakams, literary books etc. IndiWord lets you convert such text to Indian languages in Unicode format at the touch of a button. To convert such text follow these steps
- Using the mode toolbar set the scheme in which the text is composed in (ITRANS, RTS are currently supported) from the left pop-down menu, set the language from the right pop-down menu.
- Copy the text composed in ITRANS/RTS into the editor.
- Click on the button

Changing Text from One Indian Language to Another
Sometimes you want to read the text composed in one language in another language. For example you want to read a verse from Bhagavad Gita composed in Devanagari in your mother tongue. IndiWord does not let you down. However since not all Indian languages have the
same set of alphabets, IndiWord finds a closest possible alphabet based on the pronounciation. To change language the of a text follow these steps
- Select the text you want to convert.
- Click on the button

- Select the language from the pop-down menu.
Note about Saved Documents
Make a note that the documents are saved as cookies. Please be aware that if you delete cookies you will lose saved documents. On the other hand if you are using a public computer everyone who has access to the computer will be able to access your documents. We plan to implement account based document saving in our next release.
